New HIV Cases In Iowa Up 27 Percent

Iowa Department of Public Health HIV surveillance coordinator Jerry Harms joins Des Moines FM host Chance Dorland to explain possible reasons for Iowa’s 27 percent increase in new HIV cases in 2015. The two also discuss Iowa’s overall low amount of HIV diagnoses compared to the rest of the Midwest and the nation as a whole and how the Iowa Department of Public Health is planning to further minimize the amount of HIV/AIDS cases in the state in the coming years.
