Despite Negative Perceptions, Safety Improves In Des Moines’ “Drunkest District”

KCCI anchor & reporter Shaina Humphries spoke with Des Moines FM host Chance Dorland about her recent “reality check” of safety concerns in downtown Des Moines on Friday & Saturday nights. It turns out while the Court Avenue area may be thought of as “Des Moines’ drunkest district,” & downtown party culture often means loud streets or “tipsy to trashed” 20-somethings everywhere in sight, it’s actually not as dangerous as many people think.
