Slow Lane, Karen Weir-Jimerson’s New Book On Raising A Family In Rural Iowa

Karen Weir-Jimerson is a garden magazine writer, author & Iowa native who, with the help of her husband (also a writer), raised two sons on their 3-acre Iowa farmstead outside of Des Moines. During that time, many of her family’s stories appeared in the magazines she wrote for, & Weir-Jimerson has now collected some of those essays for her second book, Slow Lane: Essays on the Wisdom and Wonder of Living in the Country, a followup to her 2011 book of rural Iowa stories, So Much Sky. Find more info on Karen Weir-Jimerson & her book, Slow Lane, at http://www.karenweirjimerson.com/.

As a friend of her oldest son, Des Moines FM host Chance Dorland spent countless days & nights in the Jimerson household, & recently spoke with Karen Weir-Jimerson about her latest book of essays, growing up in rural Iowa, & why some are now choosing to leave.
